To celebrate their 5 year birthday and achievement of securing an EU license, Bitstamp have launched their funding round for BnkToTheFuture qualifying investors.
Bitstamp is one of the oldest companies in the Bitcoin sector and are the first licensed exchange in Europe. Founded in 2011, Luxembourg based Bitstamp is a leading global digital asset exchange and the largest Bitcoin exchange in the EU in terms of volume. Currently, they are offering trading pairs of USD and EUR with BTC and the exchange is set to include other fiat and cryptocurrencies in the months ahead. Bitstamp has been backed by Venture Capitalist Pantera Capital to the tune of $10 million.
Bitstamp was recognised as the first Bitcoin exchange to implement the high security multi-sig wallet and the first to become a nationally licensed Bitcoin exchange in all 28 EU members states.They passed 1 million transactions in 2012 and have handled over $12 billion in volume since they began.
